First of all, on behalf of Rumah Budaya Di Austin I would like to thank Stephen Slawek, who is the director of the Javanese Gamelan Ensemble at UT Butler School of Music for the concert that took place on December 5, 2015 at 8:00 pm in the Bates Recital Hall. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to Pak Rasito Purwopangrawit, the visiting artists Andy Sutton, Chris (rebab); singers Archana Narasimhan, Rashmi Vasist; dancers Sri Lestari, Julia Clifford, Logan Iin Canavan, Fiza Khan, Isman Pasha; and all of the musicians Martina M Li, Myranda Harris, Aruna Kharod, Eddie Hsu, Lee Redfield, Amy Babich, Peter Breithaupt, Todd Olson, Ja Young Joo, Michelle Jones, Kevin Dedon, Jeff Grimes, Laura Brackney, Butet Luhcandradini who make up the Gamelan Ensemble here at the University of Texas at Austin.
Secondly, I would like to thank the Indonesian community in Texas and offer my sincere appreciation to them for all the support they have provided to RBI in sponsoring the concert. Without the help and assistance provided by the Indonesian community the presentation would not have the same effect on the people who attended the concert. Your efforts toward developing this event to have a truly “Indonesian Flavor” paid off in the long run.
